Prayer... The Answer To Every Problem

I was blessed to come across a beautiful passage of reading as I've been in the middle of a prayer and fasting time.  We often are fervent in the "fasting" part but our "prayer" part is still left deficient because it means that time has to be taken and thought given in order to do it.  I am speaking from personal experience.

Tragedy & Prayer

Why is it that it takes a tragedy to bring us to our knees to God.  Have you noticed that even the infidel and atheist that says they don't believe in God, is the first to say God's name when their lives are about to quickly depart.  For example:  A airplane pilot has lost all function of a plan and crash is inevitable.  Even at that point, an atheist or infidel will say, "Oh, God".  I think part of it is because they, at that moment, realize that there is nothing for them after this life and this life is about to end and they are wanting to reach out for the possibilities of another life at that point.  They have been brought to a tragedy or crossroad in their lives and have to make a decision of whether to go to a meaningless, hopeless grave, or to go to a grave that will have a resurrection into a new life when Jesus comes and calls them home.

You see all of us are looking for the "something" that is greater than ourselves.  But nothing on this earth will be able to handle EVERY problem in this life... nothing but PRAYER.  You see prayer is an avenue that leads us to the most powerful being in existence... God.  It opens up everything at our mouth-tips.  All we have to do is speak and believe.  You see... it is a state of mind and heart, both must be involved.

The passage I was referring to is below:

"Prayer is the answer to every problem in life.  It puts us in tune with divine wisdom, which knows how to adjust everything perfectly.  So often we do not pray in certain situations because from our standpoint, the outlook is hopeless.  But nothing is impossible with God.  Nothing is so tangled that it cannot be remedied.  No human relationship is so strained for God to bring about reconciliation and understanding. No habit is so deep-rooted that it cannot be overcome.  No one is so ill he cannot be healed.  No mind is so dull that it cannot be made brilliant.  Whatever we need, if we trust in God, He will supply it.  If anything is causing worry and anxiety, let us stop rehearsing the difficulty and trust God for healing, love, and power."

What Are Your Plans For 2014!

Live On Purpose!

Wow, we have just crossed over the threshold to a new year.  2014!  I can't believe it, it went soooo fast.  We are starting a new year of blessing, trials, victories, mistakes, dreams, etc.  What are your plans for this year.  Have you mapped out your goal of what you want to accomplish this year, so that you are not just letting life happen?

What are your desires, your short term and long term plans?  If you don't know, then you are just letting life happen instead of living on purpose.  We all should have a plan for our lives to a certain extent.  Some plan short term.  Some plan long term.  Some plan for both.  If you are not a planner, but want to work on dreams that you have, it is time to become a planner now.  It doesn't have to be big and bad.  Just start with a short term goal of what you want to accomplish in 1 month, or 3 months, or 6 months.  Then when you reach the end of that goal, plan for the next phase of life you are entering.  All you need is a dream, want, desire, or belief in something and then run with that in how you want it to work out in your life.

Many people make New Year's Resolutions.  There is nothing wrong with that.  The problem is that they they didn't set a goal or a plan.  "They didn't plan to fail... they failed to plan."  Let's look at the word resolution.  Resolution means a firm decision to do or not do something.  It also means the action of solving a problem.  I believe that it takes both these definitions to be victorious in fulfilling our resolution.

You see, we can make the firm decision to do something but if we don't place it with an action of solving the problem of why we weren't doing it in the first place then we will still be back where we started within a few short weeks.  If we make a firm decision to NOT do something but we fail to place it with an action of solving the problem of why we ARE doing it in the first place and then replace that action with a positive one to fill it's place, then we are still going to fail.  "Resolution", I believe, is very similar to "Faith".  It is an action word.  We must plan to "do and not do" something.  Do the necessary research to lose that weight, to eat right, to get the job, to get into a specific school, to move to another country, to learn to walk again.  Then have the faith and the courage to just do it and let nothing stop you or stand in your way.

So, as the Lord has blessed you with a new year of life, don't live by accident and just let anything and everything hit you.  Know the Lord's leading in your life.  Know your plans for your life.  Know your desires and dreams for your life this new year.  Then, set out to accomplish that which you are meant to accomplish.

God has given you power and status to be kings and queens of this earth.  Why live as less?  A king or a queen never just let things happen, they decided what would happen.  Now, they didn't know everything.  However, they worked in and used what they knew and believed.  Be a king or a queen the way God desires you to be. Why is your state of mind as someone who is in defeat?! Know that you a conqueror over anything and everything that would threaten to beset you.  Do it with by the will of the Lord and the strength of His might.  While we are fulfilling our dreams however, we will not just walk over others to get there because then our dreams will be a guaranteed failure.  We must do it with a good character and dignity and compassion and justice and mercy and most importantly... love for our fellow man.  So, if you don't get anything else written here, my message for you today is...

LIVE ON PURPOSE!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
